100 of their washable products recommend using cold water in washing instructions

Animal warfare – no use of animal fur, leather, suede and down

Goodbye plastic – as of Spring 2023, they have removed single-use plastic shopping bags from their stores and replaced them with recyclable or compostable materials

Saved water with their low-impact eco wash processes.

Recycled paper – used for 100% of their product labeling

Low-impact cotton

Sustainable Cotton Fiber is ethically sourced with a holistic approach, ensuring practices support environmental, social and economic sustainability.

This practice aids in protecting and restoring earth’s natural resources through soil health, water management, greenhouse gas emissions and climate resilience. Producing sustainable cotton fiber is better for the livelihood of the farmers, women’s equality and people’s health.

When you see the low impact badge along with “Sustainable Cotton Fiber” noted, they have used Sustainable Cotton Fiber. This means the fibers used in this garment have been certified and support Sustainable Cotton Farming.

Low Impact

Low-impact processes better protect the environment. When a low-impact process is used, consumption is significantly lessened in these three main areas: water, energy, and chemical usage.

Using less water helps maintain this important natural resource. Reducing the use of chemicals betters the impact on the environment and the health of workers. By changing processes to use less water and chemicals, energy consumption is much lower, contributing to a cleaner environment.

When you see the low-impact badge, they have used significantly less water and chemicals in their treatment and finishing processes. A portion of their low impact offering are made with Lenzing EcoVero branded viscose fibre derived from certified renewable wood sources using an eco-responsible process.

Recycled Materials

Recycled materials are made from turning plastic waste into fibres from apparel production. Recycled polyester is mostly comprised of plastic bottles.

Using recycled materials keeps plastic waste from accumulating in the environment, especially their oceans. This helps protect important eco-systems and conserves natural resources. Recycled polyester eliminates the need for new petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gasses. This process also conserves water and energy.

When you see the low-impact badge, Cleo has used registered recycled polyester in the garment or item. Global Recycled Standard (GRS) verifies and certifies recycled content, chemical usage restrictions, chain of custody along with responsible social and environmental practices.
